How we source it

Konjac Bio Limited is a sourcing and trading company based in Shanghai. We do not own a factory. Orders for konjac boba pearls and konjac snacks are matched to vetted producing factories in China's konjac-growing regions, including Yunnan, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou and Shaanxi, selected for the specific format, flavour system and pack size requested.

The producing factory issues the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for each shipment; certificates for other schemes are available on request from the producing factory. See our overview of konjac sourcing on the konjac wholesale page.

Packaging, MOQ and lead time

Standard packaging is pouches for konjac boba and popping pearls, and printed retail pouches for spicy strips, chips and candy-style pieces, packed into cartons for export. MOQ is the producing factory's minimum run per SKU, and private label runs are confirmed per format on the proforma invoice.

Lead time depends on flavour development and packaging print runs and is confirmed on the proforma invoice. FOB Shanghai is standard; CIF, EXW and DAP are available on request.

Private label and OEM

OEM and private-label programmes cover flavour and seasoning development, sweetener system selection (sugar, sugar alcohols or high-intensity sweeteners), pearl or piece size, and custom packaging artwork. The producing factory works from the buyer's target flavour profile, texture and pack format brief.

  • Flavour and seasoning development per formula
  • Sweetener system selection
  • Custom pouch and carton artwork
  • Label compliance for the destination market is the buyer's responsibility

Q&A

Frequently asked questions

01 What is the difference between crystal boba pearls and popping pearls?
Crystal boba pearls are a solid chewy konjac pearl packed ready-to-use in syrup, used as a tapioca-pearl alternative. Popping pearls have a thin gel shell around a liquid or fruit-flavoured centre that bursts in the mouth. Both are supplied in bulk pouches for bubble-tea and beverage use.
02 Can you develop a custom flavour for konjac strips or candy?
Yes. Flavour, seasoning and sweetener system are developed per formula with the producing factory based on a target profile the buyer provides. Development timelines add to the standard lead time and are confirmed on the proforma invoice.
03 What is the MOQ for a private-label konjac snack SKU?
MOQ depends on the format, pack size and the producing factory's minimum run per SKU; private-label runs with custom artwork carry a higher minimum than standard retail formats. Exact MOQ is confirmed on the proforma invoice.
04 Do you handle label compliance for our market?
We provide the specification sheet and Certificate of Analysis for each lot, but label compliance for the destination market, including ingredient declarations and permitted claims, is the buyer's responsibility.
05 Are konjac jelly mini-cups available for export?
Konjac gel (E425) is not permitted in jelly mini-cup formats in the EU due to choking-hazard regulation, so pouch, drinkable and other non-cup formats are used for export. See the konjac jelly page for jelly-specific formats.
